“Using home made products mean giving room for our industries to grow and strengthen our economy,” he said.
He commended efforts done by the industry that produces Dar fresh milk, other dairy products and bottled water.
The industry is also planning in the near future to establish soft drinks plant and adding value to fruits to produce juices.
“I am happy, you are doing a great job,” the minister told the plant management.
The plant with 3,000 cows produces the average of 10,000 litres of milk per day.
Milkcom Dairies Limited also buys milk from Morogoro and Coast regions. Livestock keepers come mostly from Dakawa, Kimamba, Lugoba and Chalinze areas.
Dar fresh director, Yusuph Said noted that the arrangement has created a reliable market for the farmers.

“On average we buy 8,000 litres after every one day from them,” he elaborated.
The minister promised to make close follow ups so that the plant get reliable electricity from the national grid and other crucial services to help them become competitive in the market.
The minister’s tour also involved a visit to the 240 industrial sites planned by the government in Tundwi Songani area also in Kigamboni District.
He explained that the government had completed the plan, the next step will be to ensure that the sites have all required infrastructure such as roads, electricity and water to attract investors.
“Let us think of how this area will use electricity generated by gas,” he told government experts present at the tour.
He said he would work hard to make sure that the area got the required infrastructure within two years from now ready for investors to start their projects without problems.
He also told factory owners in the country to adhere to environmental regulations and standards.
Kigamboni district Commissioner, Hashim Mgandilwa said his district is set to make sure the industrial plots are used as planned.
“We welcome investors in our district, we will work together and support them for mutual benefits,” he said.
The Assistant Land Commissioner, Dar es Salaam zone, Mathew Nhonge said the plots were set for service trade industries and light industries.
